Judge Lewis Kaplan said about 50 people remained on the shortlist at the end of the day. Twelve jurors and six alternates are expected to be selected Wednesday morning local time, and opening statements are expected to begin shortly thereafter. The prosecution is expected to give opening statements for approximately 25-30 minutes, while the defense is expected to take 35-40 minutes. The first witnesses will take the stand later in the day.
