Nigerian Blockchain Payments Company Bitmama Raises $2 Million

According to TechCrunch, the Nigerian blockchain payment startup Bitmama completed a $2 million Pre-Seed round of financing, led by Unicorn Growth Capital and Launch Africa, with participation from Adaverse, Flori Ventures, Tekedia Capital, GreenHouse Capital, ODBA, Five35 Ventures , Chrysalis Capital, Enrich Africa, Thrive Africa and Angellist Ventures, among others. This round of financing will be used to expand the team, expand the market size in Africa, and expand new use cases for cryptocurrencies in Africa. Bitmama recently launched Changera, a social payment solution that allows customers to use stablecoins to make remittances and international payments on Netflix and Amazon via a virtual card.
