Craig Wright's ex-lawyer reveals email evidence shared by his wife was forged in COPA trial

Craig Wright's former lawyer said in court on Monday that emails shared by Wright's wife as evidence in the ongoing Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) trial, which is investigating whether Wright invented Bitcoin currency. Wright's wife, Ramona Watts, shared the emails with Wright's current lawyer at London law firm Shoosmiths after Wright, the self-proclaimed inventor of Bitcoin, cited emails between Wright and a former representative of Ontier during cross-examination last week. The latter in turn contacted Ontier to confirm its accuracy. Wright claims Ontier visited Australian accounting platform MYOB in 2019 and he has emails to prove it. However, Ontier said emails that Wright's wife subsequently shared with Shoosmiths law firm were forged. Law firm Shoosmiths disclosed the emails and Ontier's response in court on Monday. The documents will now be analyzed by attorneys for Wright and the plaintiffs (COPA). Before the emails were disclosed, Wright's team questioned digital forensics expert Patrick Madden, whose digital forensics report formed the basis of Wright's fabricated evidence that he was Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto.
