Cosmos Hub Community Opens Voting for Gaia v15 Upgrade Proposal

According to Foresight News, the Cosmos Hub community has opened the voting period for the Gaia v15 upgrade governance proposal, which will end on March 16th. If approved by governance, the software upgrade proposal is expected to go live on the mainnet on March 20th. The focus of the v15 version is to significantly upgrade the Cosmos SDK to version 0.47. This version adopts v0.47.8-ics-lsm, a unique branch of the Cosmos SDK, which includes support for ICS and LSM. The upgrade also includes several updates to key dependencies to enhance functionality and security: 1. IBC upgraded to version 7.3.1; 2. CometBFT upgraded to version 0.37.4; 3. Interchain security version updated to 3.3.1-lsm; 4. Packet forwarding middleware upgraded to version 7.1.2. In addition, this version raises the minimum commission rate staking parameter to 5%. Validators with commission rates below 5% before the upgrade will see their commission rates adjusted to 5% after the upgrade.
