Dragonfly managing partner Haseeb Qureshi posted on the X platform that when Dragonfly initially conducted due diligence on the Eclipse project, it heard rumors that the project's founder Neel Salami had a history of sexual harassment, so it quickly decided not to invest. Haseeb questioned that if Dragonfly heard the rumor with only minimal due diligence, then the actual investors could not have not heard it. Haseeb believes that although it was just a rumor at the time and Dragonfly did not investigate in depth, from everything they heard, this seems to be Neel's long-term behavior pattern. Haseeb is disgusted that the Eclipse project was able to obtain financing and Neel was able to cash out millions of dollars through the secondary market during the pre-release stage of the project, and emphasized that the crypto industry will never allow such behavior.
Earlier, Eclipse CEO Neel Somani announced on Thursday that he would "temporarily withdraw" from his duties as an Ethereum Layer 2 solution due to sexual harassment allegations. Despite multiple allegations of sexual misconduct involving him, Somani insisted in a post that he was innocent.
