Former US President Donald Trump had a lot of memorable quotes when he hosted a group of non-fungible token (NFT) enthusiasts at his home in Florida on Wednesday.
In addition to vowing to keep cryptocurrency entrepreneurs in the United States, Trump believed that his large collection made "NFT hot again" and even criticized a political opponent's meme coin - inadvertently causing its price to soar.
On May 8, X featured several clips of his most memorable lines, including:
On Cryptocurrency: "I'm Good at It"
One of the first videos to circulate on social media included Trump vowed to provide a better regulatory environment for crypto businesses and entrepreneurs by eliminating the "hostility" toward crypto — a problem he believes the Biden administration and the Securities and Exchange Commission have brought.
“Gensler is very against it. The Democrats are very against it, [but] I’m good with it, and I want to make sure it’s good and solid and everything else, but I’m good with it.”
When NFT enthusiast “Malcolm” asked what he would do to eliminate the hostility and keep innovators in the United States, Trump responded:
“We’re going to stop it, because I don’t want that, I don’t want that. If we’re going to have it, we’ve got to have them here.”
On NFTs: “We’re making NFTs hot again”
Trump also claimed that his Mugshot NFTs and other collectibles were “making NFTs hot again” at a time when the NFT market seemed to be losing momentum, which drew loud cheers from attendees.
Most attendees had to purchase a Trump photo NFT for $4,653 or more to be invited to the dinner event.

Trump NFT cards, U.S. Presidents and Melania Trump 1776 collectibles are other digital art collectibles associated with Donald Trump’s name.
ABOUT BODEN: “THAT’S A LOT OF MONEY FOR ONE COIN”
Unsurprisingly, Trump is not a fan of the Joe Biden-linked Jeo Boden (BODEN) memecoin, which currently has a market cap of over $260 million.
“It’s way too expensive, I don’t like the investment,” he said.
Comments about BODEN sent it soaring more than 10% soon after it was shared on X.
But another Trump-based memecoin, Donald Trump (TREMP), has had an even more impressive run, surging nearly 110% in the same time frame.
The billionaire also poked fun at his political opponent in another comment, mocking him for “not knowing” what cryptocurrency is.
“If you’re for crypto, you better vote for Trump.”
Trump previously called Bitcoin (BTC) a scam in 2021, but has come to embrace it and the broader industry in recent months.
He remains strongly inclined, however, to maintain the dominance of the U.S. dollar under the traditional banking system.
Trump also recently said he would never allow a central bank digital currency to be created under his watch.
The photo NFT emerged after Trump surrendered himself to Georgia authorities in August 2023, where he was charged with charges related to an attempt to overturn the 2020 election.
He must attend a criminal trial for falsifying business documents to pay adult film star Stormy Daniels $130,000, which is separate from charges he faces in Georgia, Florida and the District of Columbia.
Trump has been in a New York courtroom since jury selection began on April 15 for trial day. However, court was not in session on Wednesday, so he took the opportunity to fly to his Florida residence on May 8 to host an event.
