Decentralized finance (DeFi) aggregator Zapper has outlined its plans for the year 2024.

The new roadmap entails the introduction of a wallet terminal, the launch of a social application, and an expansion into various networks, including those outside the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).

What's Upcoming?

Zapper's upcoming wallet terminal aims to streamline user experiences in managing digital assets. The proposed social application intends to facilitate interaction within the DeFi community, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Acknowledging previous challenges, Zapper reflects on the experimental launch of Chainchat in the preceding year. Despite initial positive reception, the platform identified foundational issues in its approach.

This year, Zapper plans to revisit Chainchat, introducing group chats related to token and NFT collections.

Building on the success of last year's "Trends," Zapper aims to enhance user experience by introducing "For You" trends, adding a personalized touch to showcase relevant opportunities.

Additionally, Zapper plans to roll out contract pages in the upcoming year, offering users contextual information and interactive features.

Looking towards late 2024, Zapper aims to introduce achievements and badges, providing users with a nuanced view of onchain identity.

This feature will allow users to quickly identify certain attributes, such as being a "DeFi OG" or a "Cryptopunks Minter," directly on their account pages.

Lastly, as part of its growth strategy, Zapper also intends to expand into non-EVM networks, seeking to broaden its user base and solidify its position within the DeFi ecosystem.

Building Beyond the Breach

Zapper found itself embroiled in a hack December last year.

Zapper, along with SushiSwap and Revoke.cash, faced compromise following a suspected "supply chain attack" on hardware wallet company Ledger.

The breach had enabled hackers to insert malicious code into Ledger's ConnectKit library, displaying fraudulent wallet connection prompts with the aim of draining users' funds.
