South African Tax Authority Mandates Registration for Crypto Transactions

According to Odaily, South African Revenue Service Commissioner Edward Kieswetter has announced that all taxpayers, exchanges, and intermediaries involved in cryptocurrency transactions must register with the tax authorities. Failure to do so will be considered illegal. Kieswetter emphasized that registration will enable the tax department to monitor business activities and enhance regulatory oversight of the crypto industry.
