About CTC

Launched on 04/04/2019 by a team based in the US, Canada, South Korea, Nigeria, and Estonia, Creditcoin aims to address the lack of credit system among the unbanked in the emerging market. People who cannot access the banking system have to borrow from non-banks. However, credit records with non-banks are not accepted by the banks since they cannot trust the data. The project aims to solve the problem by recording credit transaction history objectively on a public blockchain.

국내 암호화폐 거래소마다 표기된 발행량이 달라 논란이 일었던 크레딧코인(CTC) 측이 "이더리움(ETH) 기반 CTC의 최대 발행량은 6억 개다. 국내 거래소에서 유통되고 있는 CTC는 모두 이더리움 기반 토큰으로, 향후 최대 발행량 표기도 6억 개로 일원화하겠다"고 해명했다. 이와 관련 크레딧코인 개발사 글루와는 "CTC는 이더리움 기반 토큰과 메인넷 기반 토큰 등 총 2종으로 구성돼 있다. 이더리움 기반 CTC는 메인넷 기반 CTC로 스왑 가능하지만 반대는 불가능하다. 이에 이더리움 기반 CTC의 최대 발행량이 6억개고, 메인넷 기반 CTC 최대 발행량은 '무제한'이라는 사실을 모든 거래소에 동일하게 제공해왔다. 거래소 입장에서는 두 가지 최대 발행량을 동시 표시하는 데 어려움이 있을 수 있다. 여기서 '6억개'와 '무제한' 두 가지 정보가 혼용되는 문제가 발생해 일부 거래소에서 CTC가 투자유의종목으로 지정되기도 했다. 하지만 크레딧코인은 두 가지 종류의 CTC 최대 발행량 정보를 모든 거래소에 동시에 제공해왔다"고 설명했다.
