Chinese insurers issued 16 bonds for capital replenishment totaling CNY 32.07 billion in the first half of 2026, down 35.3% year on year, with perpetual bonds accounting for about 60% of the issuance, according to 36Kr citing Wind data. Interviewees said future bond issuance by insurers is expected to become more targeted and focused on proactive balance-sheet optimization, while insurers also need to strengthen internal capital generation by optimizing business structures and improving operating efficiency, and explore more diversified capital-replenishment channels.

Live hog prices in China rose to CNY 11.02 per kilogram on July 8, extending gains for eight straight days and climbing above CNY 11/kg for the first time since March 5, according to 36Kr. The latest price is more than 22% higher than the mid-April low, after hog prices began a choppy uptrend from mid-April. The report said the recent rise has been driven by capacity reductions in the industry and stepped-up policies aimed at stabilizing hog prices. It added that leading hog producers are cutting costs by optimizing feed formulas and reducing expenses, while also slowing slaughter pace and lowering the growth rate of annual shipment targets to protect cash flow. Databao data cited by 36Kr showed more than 20 A-share concept stocks tied to hog farming, with an average decline of 19.64% year-to-date.

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and eight other departments issued policy guidance on accelerating innovation in the retail sector, including support for eligible new high-quality retail companies to list on stock exchanges, according to 36Kr. The document also backs qualified retail operators issuing asset-backed securities and commercial real estate investment trusts (REITs), and encourages financial institutions to roll out sector credit policies tailored to retail. It calls for promoting interest-subsidy loan policies for eligible retail operators as service-sector businesses, and supports eligible consumer-infrastructure projects such as department stores, shopping centers, community commercial facilities and farmers markets issuing infrastructure REITs. It also urges increased financial support for energy-saving, carbon-reduction upgrades and digital transformation of facilities and equipment, subject to legal compliance and controllable risks.

A total of 218 A-share listed companies have participated in setting up industrial M&A funds so far in 2026, based on first announcement dates, according to 36Kr, citing Tonghuashun iFinD data as of July 8. Among them, 111 companies have completed fund establishment, one has terminated its plan, and the rest are still推进ing related procedures. In terms of fundraising size, 48 industrial M&A funds have set an expected fundraising cap of more than RMB 1 billion. Several funds backed by China Life Insurance Co. have among the highest fundraising caps, including RMB 8.5 billion, RMB 5.0515 billion, and RMB 4.0154 billion.
