Ripple has decided to stay private despite raising $500 million at a $40 billion valuation, using the funding to expand through acquisitions and product development. The company processed over $95 billion in payments in 2025 and strengthened its stablecoin and institutional crypto services, backed by major investors like Citadel and Fortress.

Ripple’s Singapore subsidiary received an expanded payment license, allowing it to offer digital token payments, cross-border transfers, and other regulated services. The move strengthens Singapore as Ripple’s Asia-Pacific hub and supports faster, more efficient payments using RLUSD and XRP.

Ripple is considering adding staking to the XRP Ledger to reward participants and improve network security. The plan would change how transaction fees are used and could expand XRP’s role in DeFi, though it requires major technical updates.

Mastercard, Ripple, and Gemini are testing credit card payments using the stablecoin RLUSD on Ripple’s XRP Ledger. The pilot, involving WebBank, aims to settle transactions on a public blockchain and explore faster, more efficient payment options.

Ripple has confirmed it has no plans to go public, choosing to stay private despite other crypto firms launching IPOs. The company raised $500 million at a $40 billion valuation to fund its global expansion and product development.

Ripple has partnered with Absa Bank to offer institutional digital asset custody in South Africa. Absa will use Ripple’s technology to securely store and manage cryptocurrencies for its clients.

Ripple is buying Canadian payments firm Rail for $200 million to grow its stablecoin business and speed up cross-border payments. The deal is set to close later this year, pending approval from regulators.

Ripple has applied for a US national bank charter and a Federal Reserve account to support its stablecoin RLUSD. The move comes as new laws push stablecoin issuers to meet tougher rules, with Ripple aiming to boost trust and compete with USDC and USDT.

Ripple and the SEC have jointly asked a US court to lift a ban on XRP sales to institutions and cut Ripple’s fine from $125 million to $50 million. They hope this will end the long-running legal case before a key 16 June deadline.

Ripple has partnered with Web3 Salon to support Japanese startups building on the XRP Ledger. The programme offers up to $200,000 in funding, mentoring, and events to boost XRPL use in Japan.
