Institutional cryptocurrency infrastructure firm Securrency has hired asset management giant State Street digital chief Nadine Chakar as its new CEO, replacing Securrency founder Dan Doney, who will continue as the company's chief technology officer, CoinDesk reported. (CTO). Chakar's appointment will bring institutional-grade compliance expertise to Securrency's products and services in tokenization, decentralized finance (DeFi) and interoperability. Chakar spent more than two years at State Street as Head of Global Markets and less than a year and a half as Head of Digital at State Street. She has also served on Securrency’s board since 2021, when State Street participated in the company’s $30 million funding round.
