The U.S. trustee overseeing the FTX case asked the Delaware bankruptcy court to allow the appointment of a third-party examiner to investigate the finances of FTX and its subsidiaries, The Block reported. Judge John Dorsey will consider the motion at a February 6 hearing. Lawyers for FTX debtors and the Bahamas Joint Provisional Liquidators have filed court papers opposing the appointment of examiners. Appointing an examiner to investigate the FTX collapse could cost nearly $100 million and do creditors no favors, lawyers say.
