Aztec will close Aztec Connect, focus on the development of zero-knowledge universal language Noir and encrypted blockchain in the future

Aztec Network, a privacy and scaling solution based on ZK Rollup, announced the closure of the privacy infrastructure Aztec Connect. At 22:00 on March 21, deposits from zk.money and other front-ends (such as zkpay.finance) to the Aztec Connect contract will be disabled. Users will continue to be able to withdraw funds for free for one year. Its sequencer will gradually reduce the frequency of extracting rollup blocks and will end on March 21, 2024 without running withdrawal software or sequencers. Aztec Connect will remain open March 13-21, 2023. Aztec is now open source, the community is encouraged to fork, deploy and run new versions of the system, and a second grant program will be launched in April. Thereafter, the team's mid- to long-term end point will focus on the zero-knowledge universal language Noir and the development of the next-generation encrypted blockchain. It is expected to provide more Noir functions and a full set of specifications for Aztec's next-generation blockchain in the first half of 2023.
