Odaily Planet Daily News Christine Kim, Vice President of Galaxy Research, published a paper summarizing the 114th Ethereum Core Developer Consensus Conference (ACDC).
This meeting discusses the Deneb testing progress. Devnet #8 is expected to launch late next week or early next week. Ethereum Foundation researcher Hsiao-Wei Wang is preparing a new version of the CL code specification for Devnet #8, which will be ready for client teams by July 31st.
As developers look forward to having a dedicated testnet with all Deneb and Cancun related EIPs, Danny Ryan emphasized the importance of testing MEV-Boost related software as well as CL and EL client versions.
Ethereum Foundation DevOps engineer Parithosh Jayanthi and another DevOps engineer are working on various Hive tests designed specifically for MEV-Boost. As of July 27th, updates to the Builder specification have not been merged into the new version, which will be used for testing on Devnet #8 or other Cancun/Deneb testnets. Alex Stokes, a researcher at the Ethereum Foundation, said that the sooner the Cancun/Deneb upgrade CL and EL specifications are frozen, the sooner the new specifications of the MEV-Boost software can be finalized.
Additionally, the next Consensus Layer (CL) upgrade to Electra may consider incorporating both EIPs. Among other things, the EIP-6914 code change creates a way to reuse the validator index numbers of validators that have fully exited the beacon chain to reduce the computational burden on CL nodes. EIP-6110 adds new validator deposits to EL blocks so that the responsibility for deposit processing and verification is done on EL instead of CL, thereby increasing the security of validator deposits and optimizing validator user experience.
