Odaily Planet Daily News The Singapore Red Cross, a humanitarian aid and community service charity, has introduced cryptocurrencies as a newly accepted form of donation. The organization will accept donations in Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT and USDC.
On August 7, the Singapore Red Cross announced its partnership with Triple-A, the first encrypted payment gateway authorized by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, to provide anonymous donation options in cryptocurrencies. All donations will be converted into fiat currency and settled by bank transfer within one working day.
In July of this year, the Singapore High Court declared cryptocurrencies to be private property, in principle indistinguishable from fiat currencies, and could be classified under the category of “things in motion”. (Cointelegraph)
