Odaily Planet Daily News After the US SEC submitted documents to support its interlocutory appeal motion, Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty described the SEC’s latest opinion as a “contradictory shift” and believed that the opinion had little impact.
Alderoty said Gary Gensler was inconsistent, manipulative and had a desire to expand his regulatory powers. He noted that Gensler has requested an urgent appeal, while insisting that encryption regulations and rules are clear and the industry must abide by them.
John E. Deaton, a lawyer who supports XRP, said that those unfamiliar with the U.S. SEC v. Ripple Labs case may find Alderoty’s response to the SEC harsh. To those familiar with the case, however, Alderoty called the SEC "hypocritical" and merely echoed the words of the federal judge presiding over the case.
