Odaily Planet Daily News According to a new study by Pantera Capital, about 97% of people in the cryptocurrency industry are paid their basic salary in fiat currency, while only 3% are paid in cryptocurrency (the 2023 salary data comes from 1,046 responses ). Of those who paid in cryptocurrencies, the vast majority paid in the stablecoins USDC and USDT, with 13% choosing BTC.
Research shows that the average salary of 570 engineers surveyed around the world is US$120,000, of which North American engineers' salary is US$193,000, an increase of 1.5% over the previous year. By comparison, engineers in traditional technology or "Web2" positions earn an estimated salary of $166,100 in North America. The Pantera report concludes: “Senior engineers in Web3 earn slightly more than their counterparts in Web2.”
The report also shows that approximately 88% of positions in the cryptocurrency industry are remote, while the proportion of Web2 roles is estimated at 28%. (CoinDesk)
