Ethereum client developers confirmed on Thursday that the expected Dencun upgrade will not be implemented in a network hard fork before the end of 2023.
Last month, with the later-than-planned launch of the Ethereum Holesky testnet, it was agreed that completing the Dencun upgrade before December was unlikely.
Anonymous Prysm developer Potuz confirmed on the latest core developers call that it is impossible to fork the mainnet in 2023. He pointed out that in the past few months, the 10 developer networks (devnets) that have launched test upgrades have been experiencing consensus issues, and "none of them are going smoothly."
