Matt Hougan, chief investment officer of Bitwise, said on the X platform that the ETF has a positive meaning for both BTC and ETH, but it is more meaningful for BTC for two reasons.
One is that the BTC ETF may be the first to be approved and absorb most of the potential funds, which is very important because many financial professionals do not know the difference between BTC and ETH.
Second, Bitcoin’s current killer utility is as an alternative way to store wealth in addition to legal currency. ETFs can boost this utility, while Ethereum’s killer application is its functionality. ETFs will not address this. Helps.
