On April 7, IoTeX research scientist Andrew was invited to attend the HK Web3 Festival and shared the technical path of DePIN large-scale application at the DePIN theme roundtable. Other participants in the discussion included Hotspotty, Streamr Network, Kwil and GMNetwork.
As one of the hottest tracks, DePIN attracted a lot of attention at the HK event. From new energy to smart watches, many Web2 application scenarios have taken advantage of blockchain to catch the fast lane of Web3's rapid development. The question that follows is whether Web3's infrastructure has the capacity to carry large-scale devices and applications.
Andrew said that IoTeX has developed and constructed infrastructure modules that can support large-scale physical devices to access the chain in the past few years, such as W3bstream, and in the recent upgrade, the main network performance has been improved to a maximum of 1000TPS, from off-chain to on-chain. The overall environment for large-scale DePIN applications is available. Accessing the chain is only the first step in the development of DePIN. The privacy data stack established by the IoTeX network through ZK technology can provide strong data layer support for the development of AI smart devices.
IoTeX has been very active recently. It has just announced a $50 million financing, which will be mainly used for the construction and incubation of AI+DePIN projects.
