Telegram to launch in-app currency Telegram Stars to counter Apple App Store payment restrictions

Starting June 12, Telegram will launch a new in-app currency, Telegram Stars. Users can buy it through Apple and Google, and then use it to pay for digital goods and services within Telegram bots/applets. Many developers said they received notifications about the launch of the token, and Telegram marketing channels also posted related news. According to reports, Apple has notified Telegram and issued a warning to it for violating Articles 4.7 and 3.1.1 of the Application Review Rules, that is, it accepts payments and services from customers without using Apple's internal purchase mechanism. According to reports, users will be able to buy Stars through shopping tools in the App Store and Google Play, and may be charged a 30% service commission.
