Global banking giant Societe Generale has announced a partnership with cryptocurrency exchange Bitpanda to jointly promote mainstream adoption of its euro stablecoin EUR CoinVertible (EURCV). Jean-Mark Stenger, CEO of Societe Generale-FORGE, Societe Generale's blockchain subsidiary, said: "This collaboration is a key step in realizing our vision and we are confident that we can provide European users with stable, secure and accessible digital currencies." The collaboration coincides with the full implementation of the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Act (MiCA). MiCA is the first comprehensive regulatory framework for the crypto industry and will officially come into effect on December 30. Bitpanda Deputy CEO Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad emphasized that the euro stablecoin is crucial to the future of the European crypto industry. Societe Generale's new stablecoin will comply with MiCA regulations and be available to European investors on the Bitpanda trading platform. As the 19th largest banking group in the world, Societe Generale has total assets of more than $1.7 trillion as of 2023.
