Hong Kong Treasury Secretary Paul Chan: Promote the further integration of virtual assets into the mainstream financial market

The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr. Paul Hui, chaired the fourth Fintech Project Implementation Coordination Group Meeting. He said that the Hong Kong government and financial regulators have been strongly supporting the development of Fintech, including improving financial infrastructure, building a more active Fintech ecosystem, and cultivating Fintech talents. The participants exchanged views on different aspects of Fintech, including how to further integrate virtual assets into the mainstream financial market and the application of artificial intelligence in Hong Kong's financial market. Cyberport and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority reported on the Green and Sustainable Fintech Concept Proof-of-Concept Testing Funding Program and the latest development of the wholesale central bank digital currency project Ensemble.
