Coinbase Chief Security Officer: Lack of Crypto Education in the U.S. Congress Will Lead to “Bad Laws”

Coinbase Chief Security Officer Phillip Martin said at the Ripple Swell Conference that the company has been focusing on educating the public and legislators to prevent misleading narratives about the connection between cryptocurrencies and illegal finance from leading to "bad laws." Martin said: "Educated legislators can make better decisions. Lack of education leads to bad laws and stifles innovation." He added that Coinbase also helped US lawmakers understand consumer protection, safety and security measures implemented in the encryption field to combat illegal activities.
