Vitalik Buterin published an article on X saying that the idea of Ethereum is that ETH addresses serve as a universal interface. Thanks to zkemail, tlsnotary, anon aadhaar, etc., any form of identity verification can be converted to an ETH address and then plugged into other tools (such as multi-signature, DAO authorization, etc.).
A key difference between ETH addresses and "pure cryptography", and where blockchain provides its value, is that ETH addresses can be "stateful", so details about key revocation, etc. can be abstracted.
