DIA has launched the Lumina testnet today. Lumina is its new modular oracle infrastructure, designed to improve transparency, scalability and integration flexibility, and is committed to solving common problems of existing oracles, allowing data aggregation, verification and delivery across chains.
Its architecture is different from other oracle solutions such as Chainlink and API3 because it supports multiple messaging protocols, is compatible with non-EVM chains, and has comprehensive data traceability.
DIA Product Head Zygis Marazas said that previously, access to the source and flow of oracle data was often opaque, but Lumina provides full visibility of the entire process.
The current testnet will limit participation, and the mainnet is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2025 and will operate as a completely permissionless network. In addition to nodes, new chains and assets that require oracle services can also be inserted without the direct involvement of the DIA team. This eliminates the need for manual onboarding processes.
