President-elect Trump has pledged to make the United States the global home for cryptocurrencies and even supports the idea of a strategic national Bitcoin reserve, though industry insiders have questioned whether the latter goal is feasible.
TD Cowen analyst Jaret Seiberg wrote in a report that a Bitcoin reserve is at odds with Trump's "firm" view of the dollar as the world's key currency.
Seiberg said: "Trump will likely still promote a Bitcoin reserve on social media or mention it in speeches, which is not the same thing as leveraging the significant political capital required to achieve this goal." (Bloomberg)
