According to an announcement on Tuesday, Wormhole is working with restaking protocol developer Nuffle Labs to develop a solution to extend EigenLayer’s restaking capabilities beyond the Ethereum ecosystem. The move is intended to advance the security generated by shared staking to protect multiple protocols and applications simultaneously.
The solution, which leverages Wormhole’s messaging architecture and Nuffle’s NUFF protocol, will allow assets to be re-staking directly from any L1 or L2 blockchain without the need for asset bridging.
Nuffle Labs, a spinoff of the NEAR Foundation, is developing modular blockchain technology to expand the ecosystem, including the NEAR Data Availability Layer and the NEAR Fast Finality Layer. The collaboration with Wormhole will make all tokens available through the Nuffle infrastructure available for AVS built on the EigenLayer shared security framework. (The Block)
