Opinion: The idea that Bitcoin is just a means of storing value is a misunderstanding, and its ecosystem has a lot of potential demand

Core DAO contributor Brendon Sedo said during a panel discussion that the idea that Bitcoin is just a store of value is a misconception. He noted that there is a lot of latent demand in the Bitcoin ecosystem and said that in his experience, "people want to do things with their Bitcoin; including wanting to stake it, wanting to borrow it and earn a yield." The panelists agreed that it would be a very positive development if the government were to establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve in the United States. "This is definitely a very bullish development, and it's kind of like the game theory that Bitcoin enthusiasts have been talking about for a long time, and this is basically a fantastic game theory scenario," said Sedo.
