Odaily Planet Daily News As the US cryptocurrency policy environment becomes increasingly active, more than 12 major lobbying organizations are active in Washington, including the Digital Chamber, Blockchain Association, and Crypto Innovation Council (CCI), and new organizations such as the Solana Policy Institute (SPI) and the National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA) have recently been added.
Although industry leaders generally believe that "there is strength in numbers", some former policy advisers are concerned that multiple organizations have a high degree of overlap in membership, funding, and goals, which may lead to waste of resources and excessive bombardment of policymakers. The Stand With Crypto movement led by Coinbase and the supportive political action committee Fairshake are also promoting policy changes. Last year, it invested more than $100 million to support pro-crypto candidates.
As the new Congress advances a number of key crypto bills (covering market regulation, stablecoins, DeFi, proof of reserves, etc.), leadership changes have occurred in multiple organizations, such as Kristin Smith leaving the Blockchain Association to join the Solana Policy Institute, and Perianne Boring, founder of the Digital Chamber of Commerce, also withdrew from daily management and only retained a board position.
