Paris Blockchain Week Summit (PBWS), Europe's flagship blockchain conference, kicked off Wednesday at the Palais Brongniart in Paris with an all-star cast. 07:06 -Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao took the stage. He started his talk with a basic question: "How many of you hold bitcoin or cryptocurrencies?"

7:15 - Binance is currently available in over 70 countries out of the top 100 globally. Binance Labs, the exchange’s investment arm, has invested more than $100 million in about 100 crypto projects with a combined liquidity market capitalization of $7 billion, a 66-fold increase in three years.

7:18 - CZ explains how regulation has evolved over the years and how there have been major changes in the way regulators regulate.

7:25 - On how to manage such a large consortium of crypto platforms, CZ says: "The key secret is that you shouldn't do too much."

Binance's growth depends on the growth of the ecosystem, "that's why we don't see other crypto platforms as competitors, but as peers."

7:29- CZ says France is in a very unique position in terms of regulation, talent and expertise and has the potential to become a leading European hub for crypto. “I think France has one of the most advanced and open governments that can help create regulations that support cryptocurrencies.”

7:30- Binance CEO's keynote speech concludes with the announcement of a new partnership with Station F, a major French startup park.

08:40 - Blockchain.com co-founder Nicolas Cary and Cointelegraph editor-in-chief Kristina Lucrezia Corner take the stage to discuss the decade in crypto.

8:43 - Nicolas Cary talks about the difficulties of running a blockchain company founded in 2011 and how the company started developing various tools around Bitcoin.

"Our first tool is a bitcoin wallet, one of the first non-custodial wallets with over 85 million users in 200 countries."

8:47 - Talking about how today’s blockchain and crypto activity differs from the early days, Cary said: “Blockchain activity has become much more acceptable today, whereas in the early days people often wore masks to maintain their anonymity.”
