Human history has always been written by the victors, a rule that’s about to change via blockchain technology.
Thinking of the massive volumes of historical accounts, documents, artifacts, and precious pieces of history that have been lost due to decay, destruction, and theft, we quickly realize the need to preserve our history immutably and eternally for future generations to understand, enjoy, and learn from.
Take the Library of Alexandria for example. The single greatest accumulation of knowledge in human history was ransacked, burned, and pillaged by numerous conquerors leaving much of its precious and unrecoverable history destroyed.
This monument of knowledge was first burned by Julius Caesar in 48 BCE during a naval attack, an event that Caesar left out any mention of in his historical accounts.
Later, the Patriarch of Alexandria, Theophilus, destroyed volumes of text and artifacts in the name of Christianity as religious wars raged throughout the region.
In his short ten-year rule, Caliph Omar managed to wreak havoc on the Library once more. He laid waste to countless more volumes and artifacts which he believed contradicted the Koran, using the paper as tinder for his bathhouses.
Think of the incredible mysteries about this world that will never be recovered, never prized, never understood. These are the limits of recording history in our physical world.
But blockchain and NFT technology provide some incredible opportunities to preserve our history, immutably and immortally, for generations to come. Blockchains provide a perfectly precise and unalterable platform for anyone to upload information that can be stored forever. Never to be destroyed. Through the exchange of information on immutable ledgers that can be accessed globally and immediately via a basic internet connection, blockchain technology changes the game for recording history in the future.
NFT technology allows for non-fungible assets to act as unique identifiers on blockchain platforms. Through minting HistoryNFTs on the HistoryDAO platform, users can upload headlines, text, articles, images, and more to record history in real-time with critical, unique information uploaded immediately and globally.
HistoryNFT Series and INOs (Initial NFTs Offerings) allow users to crowdfund their series collection of HistoryNFTs, which they can then launch in mint events for the public to participate in. Political elections, sports seasons, music festivals, fashion shows, eSports tournaments, space explorations, financial quarters, and much much more can be recorded in real-time and minted in HistoryNFT Series.
We at HistoryDAO are proud to be a part of this movement and thrilled to enable people all over the world in recording our history as it unfolds.
