Farewell to Twitter
In an unexpected turn of events, Avenged Sevenfold frontman M. Shadows bids farewell to Twitter, expressing his disinterest in the platform's utility. His parting message, delivered with neither bitterness nor frustration, conveys a simple lack of engagement with the platform at this point.
His Blockchain Journey
For the past few years, M. Shadows actively explored the realm of blockchain, particularly diving into the world of NFTs. Notably, he ventured into creating his own Deathbats Club NFTs, marking a unique presence on the platform. During this time, his avatar sported a CryptoPunk NFT, showcasing his commitment to the blockchain space.

The Evolution of Shadows
However, recent developments hint at a shift in Shadows' digital presence. His X/Twitter avatar underwent a transformation, now featuring a digital black hole or eclipse-type design. Simultaneously, he adopted the moniker "Nobody" on the platform, leaving followers intrigued by the symbolic departure from a recognisable identity.
An Analogy for Change
To comprehend this shift, imagine the digital realm as a vast landscape. M. Shadows, once an active participant, now stands at the edge, gazing into a digital abyss. The transition from a CryptoPunk NFT to a symbolic void signifies a departure from the tangible digital collectibles to a more abstract representation.
Embracing the Unknown
As M. Shadows bids adieu to Twitter, he steps into the unknown—a realm beyond the constraints of a predefined digital identity. The transformation from a Deathbats Club creator to the enigmatic "Nobody" echoes a departure from the tangible world of NFTs to an abstract, uncharted digital space. In this evolving digital landscape, the musician invites his followers to embrace change and explore the uncharted territories of the digital realm.
Navigating the Digital Abyss
In a world saturated with digital noise, M. Shadows' departure from Twitter serves as a poignant reminder of the ever-evolving nature of our digital existence. As he ventures into the unknown, being less active digitally, the musician prompts us to question our own digital footprints. Are we defined by our avatars and usernames, or can we, too, embrace the freedom of anonymity? In this digital abyss, Shadows invites us to explore the limitless possibilities of reinvention and self-discovery.
The message he posted on the platform:
Twitter - I'm saying goodbye (kinda)
I was gonna write out something to explain why I don't find this platform useful anymore but the reality is even that is a waste of time and who really cares?
In 2021 I was invited to do a "twitter space" about NFT's which resulted in me having to sign up for my first social media experience. Reluctantly, I stayed on. Here, I created relationships with many people I never would have met. So for that I'm grateful.
It was great for launching Deathbats Club and all of our other endeavors around Avenged Sevenfold. I'm neither bummed nor mad about this app in general... it just simply doesn't interest me at this point.
I will continue to post about nerdy things that actually make me excited to get out of bed. It will not get much reach because this is how the app works. These things include the bleeding edge of technology, VR, blockchain, music communities, and an occasional song.
I'll be in and out of discord hangin w people there when I can. Just know every day we are building new ways that are meaningful to connect. This just isn't one of them. ⌛️
