Unlike his son, who is a controversial character in China, Maye Musk is adored in the country she claims to visit nearly every month. Maye has been described as Elon Musk's secret weapon that could help Musk to achieve his global business and political ambitions.

Maye has also made her sentiments for the country clear. She once tweeted
