I just finished writing yesterday’s article when I saw Merlin Chain’s staking activity. When I looked at the details of the event, I was disappointed - I didn't expect that this project also fell into a method that I didn't like, and brought in the information binding method of the centralized real-name system.
Fortunately, the most creative part of the Bitmap Tech ecosystem project is not in the Merlin Chain, so I hope that the project side’s approach to this project will not have too many negative impacts on the long-term development of the entire ecosystem.
I have always been quite disgusted with such practices as whitelisting and binding centralized information, because this practice is not anonymous, grassroots, or mass. It is fundamentally the same as the DNA of the crypto world. Incompatibility will make me feel that this project is not close enough to the community, not popular enough, and not down-to-earth enough.
So for this kind of projects, I am often too lazy to participate. Sometimes I participate purely because I estimate that the project may have an opportunity to make a fortune, so I reluctantly make do with it. However, among these projects, there is one exception that I participated in without emotion: the Nobody NFT that Stephen Chow participated in the design.
I have known for a long time that Stephen Chow is actively looking for opportunities to enter Web 3. I saw an introduction to Nobody NFT a while ago.
Although this NFT has not yet been released and we don’t know what the final design will be, its promotional materials show a variety of doll heads. I don’t know if these portraits are the final designs. If so, then I think this kind of design is actually quite ordinary, just a decent comic design.
What I really like about this project is the meaning of this NFT:
Every nobody is somebody.
It is not easy to find a rhyming direct translation of this sentence. Translation method. However, the meaning it expresses is very clear: every little person is born with talents that will be useful, and no one should belittle or underestimate themselves.
When I saw this theme, I immediately thought of Yin Tianqiu in "The King of Comedy"---a little person who has loved comedy since he was a child and dreams of becoming a comedian.
However, without the support of his family, he could only venture into Hong Kong alone. In Hong Kong, he suffered all kinds of hardships and setbacks, experienced long waits, failures and the mockery of fate. Finally, with his unremitting efforts, he finally became a true king of comedy.
In a sense, this movie reflects Stephen Chow's own growth experience - a family of immigrants from mainland China who grew up in a slum in Hong Kong with no background or family background, and is obsessed with his own ideals. , working hard step by step to achieve the miracle of climbing from the bottom to the peak of art.
I liked "The King of Comedy" very much before. Many times it was out of my longing and expectation for small people to realize the carp jumping over the dragon's gate. I also always had such an expectation for society: to constantly realize the realization of the bottom class. Opportunity to move up.
When I entered the crypto ecosystem and saw with my own eyes the miracles of class jumps achieved by vivid little people, I became even more grateful for the opportunities and dividends this ecosystem provides to the bottom:
Not every environment allows every nobody to become someone---look at our real world, many of our peers are still struggling in it.
Not everyone has access to an environment that provides such opportunities --- look at many of our peers, many are still obsessed with looking for opportunities in the real world.
Participating in Nobody NFT left me with memories of my youth and a greater vision for the future of the crypto world.
