What is the most popular blockchain ecosystem currently? Who is the most popular L2?

Author: Lim Yu Qian, Coingecko; Compiler: Deng Tong, Golden Finance

What is the most popular blockchain ecosystem?

The Solana ecosystem has become the most popular blockchain ecosystem so far this year, accounting for 10% of the global cryptocurrency market 49.3% of investor interest in a specific chain. Solana’s continued rally to 2021 highs, along with the strong performance of key ecosystem project tokens like Pyth and native meme coins like Dogwifhat, has fueled Solana ecosystem dominance.

At the same time, The Ethereum ecosystem attracted 12.7% investor interest, ranking it as the second most popular blockchain in 2024 ecosystem. This may be because Ethereum is already well-established as an ecosystem and familiar to investors, so it is no longer considered a new, popular crypto narrative. At the same time, attention to the Ethereum ecosystem is increasingly dispersed to the Layer 2 ecosystem built on top of it.

The third most popular blockchain ecosystem is crypto Currency exchange Binance’s BNB Smart Chain ecosystem has accounted for 5.4% of investor interest year-to-date (YTD). Like the Solana ecosystem, the BNB chain ecosystem continues to attract attention as BNB prices rise to near all-time highs.

Investor interest in other Layer 1 ecosystems

Two Layer 1 blockchain ecosystems follow BNB chain in popularity year-to-dateThe Cosmos ecosystem accounts for 4.5% of investor interest, and the Avalanche ecosystem accounts for 3.9%.

For the Cosmos ecosystem, the recent successful airdrops of Celestia and Dymension have helped drive greater attention to the Cosmos Hub’s inter-chain theory. Chains built on the Cosmos SDK also rank among the most popular blockchain ecosystems, namely the Sei Ecosystem and the Injective Ecosystem.

For the Avalanche ecosystem, mindshare growth has been driven by homegrown meme tokens like Coq Inu and their potential to lead crypto gaming, starting with its partnership to bring MapleStory on-chain. As can be seen.

Among the Move programming language blockchains, the Sui ecosystem is more popular, garnering 2.1% investor interest, which is four times the Aptos ecosystem’s 0.5% attention.

The TON ecosystem accounted for 1.9% of ecosystem narrative interest, ranking 11th in the most popular category, driven by Toncoin’s connection to the widely used messaging app Telegram. Other popular Layer 1 ecosystems include Cardano (1.3%) and Polkadot (1.1%), while Fantom, PulseChain, and Hedera all command attention around 0.5%.

Overall, the 20 most popular blockchain ecosystems combined represent 97.4% of investor interest in blockchain-specific narratives. The remaining 2.6% of interest is spread across an additional 38 blockchain ecosystems, including the Near Protocol ecosystem, which narrowly failed to crack the top 20.

The most popular Layer 2 ecosystem

Arbitrum Ecosystem and Base Ecosystem has become the most popular ecosystem within Ethereum Layer 2, attracting 3.3% and 3.2% of investor interest in specific chain narratives so far this year. The attention of the Arbitrum ecosystem is likely contributed by Arbitrum being the largest Layer 2 in terms of total value locked (TVL), while the popularity of the Base ecosystem is due to its connection to cryptocurrencies Driven by links between exchange Coinbase and local meme coin activity.

The Polygon ecosystem (2.0% of investor interest), the zkSync ecosystem (1.3%), and the Metis ecosystem (0.9%) also received meaningful, albeit smaller, attention.

As a result, only 5 Ethereum Layer 2 ecosystems rank among the top 20 most popular. Layer 2 ecosystems that have received relatively little attention so far this year include Optimism, Blast, and Starknet, which rank just outside the top 20.

All Ethereum Layer 2 combined account for 11.9% of investor interest in the blockchain ecosystem to date. This is on par with the main Ethereum ecosystem’s 12.7% share of investor interest, perhaps indicating that scaling solutions are getting as much attention as Ethereum itself.

Top 20 most popular blockchain ecosystems

Among the 58 blockchain ecosystems, the 20 most popular ones ranked by investor interest share as of 2024 The welcome blockchain ecosystem is as follows:

Presale Factory helps prevent "presale rugs" and "unfair allocation times" and is managed by smart contracts to ensure fairness. Unlike the Launchpad projects on DojoSwap, all presale projects on Presale Factory are created anonymously by creators who may not have contact with the Dojo team, so users need to research some projects on their own. In future platform upgrades, developers will need to pay a $1,000 DOJO fee to conduct presales, and all fees collected will be destroyed.

The Cascade launch consists of several decentralized deployment phases, and the Cascade testnet beta will involve an SVM sequencer operated by the Eclipse team that receives transactions from the Solana wallet and transactions from the Solana command line interface (CLI). Smart contract deployment. The chunks produced by this sorter are then published to the data availability layer. Contributors to Cascade plan to integrate Celestia to act as a data availability provider in the future.
