X Empire, the popular Elon Musk-themed Telegram crypto game, is gearing up for its upcoming airdrop by announcing a purge of in-game tokens held by inactive users.
The move is set to reward loyal players and ensure that only active participants benefit from the upcoming on-chain token drop.

X Empire inactive user tokens will be destroyed
On September 1, X Empire will initiate its first in-game currency burn, targeting users who haven’t logged into the game for over 30 days.
This is intended to "honour the most loyal and active users" by boosting their token holdings, according to the game’s official Twitter account.
The game’s vast in-game coin totals are currently off-chain rewards for players who engage in the tap-to-earn mechanics, but once the on-chain token is introduced later this year, active players will be rewarded based on their in-game activity.
X Empire seems to be adopting a similar approach to maintain fairness as it prepares to debut its token on The Open Network (TON).
With over 20 million total players as of August 18, X Empire has seen significant engagement, with 17 million monthly active users reported earlier this week.
However, up to 30% of users may lose their in-game tokens as the token burn begins, making this a pivotal moment for those who have remained active in the game.
X Empire Following in Notcoin’s Footsteps
X Empire's strategy mirrors that of Notcoin, a tap-to-earn game that conducted a similar token purge before its airdrop, which became one of the largest crypto gaming token launches of the year.
Notcoin’s co-creator, Sasha Plotvinov, explained that the purge was intended to ensure that those who invested time in the game were the ones who benefited from the airdrop.

Telegram game gives voice to Pavel Durov
The upcoming token launch comes amid a wider trend in Telegram tap-to-earn apps, where future token rewards are used to drive user engagement.
X Empire’s token will debut on TON, a network that has recently gained traction but has also experienced downtime due to apparent growing pains.
Meanwhile, Telegram’s co-founder and CEO, Pavel Durov, was recently arrested in France as part of an investigation into the platform’s alleged involvement in criminal activities.
Despite these challenges, developers of Telegram-based crypto games have expressed their support for Durov, underscoring the importance of free speech in the digital space.
