According to Foresight News, the Indian government has widely accepted blockchain technology, even though it is hesitant to fully legalize cryptocurrencies. Nearly 8 million verifiable documents issued by the government are hosted on five blockchains owned and operated by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) in India. These blockchains are Certificate Chain, Document Chain, Pharmaceutical Logistics Chain, Judicial Chain, and Property Chain.
In addition, India is developing proof-of-concept blockchains specifically for land records, blood banks, tracing goods and services tax (GST), and the public distribution system (PDS).
