X is bursting every second with new and updated information and speculations on Donald Trump's new DeFi platform. With so little information revealed and know about the platform, netizens are going crazy on their own social media digging for new information and making their own speculations while trying to make sense of this platform. After a long wait, the platform has now revealed a bit of details on the team behind the World Liberty Finance platform. And here is what the social media is saying about it...
While there is still no public announcement by the project, details regarding the project are starting to emerge. Many have rumoured on X that the platform will be built on Ethereum and Aave.
Nitizens have also dug out previous interviews done by Eric Trump, who alluded that the platform could be carrying out loans for institutions. So does this mean that World Liberty Finance is some sort of borrowing and lending platform?
I guess this would also fit Donald Trump's narrative that the platform is trying to save Americans from the oppression of tyranny of the big banks and financial elites. The white paper also says that the product will feature an "easy-to-use interface for accessing WLFI as a smart account or brokerage."
Nitizens were quick to point out the uncanny resemblance between Trump's World Liberty finance platform and another platform called Dough Finance.
There was also a Deleted codebase on GitHub that shows the project might even have lifted code directly from dough Finance.
With both platform sharing identical does, many are now wondering if World Liberty Finance could also share the same vulnerabilities with the platform that was just hacked just a few months ago.
Team behind World Liberty Finance unmasked
Previously, all it was reported in the media is that the World Liberty Finance platform has association with Donald Trump and his two sons. But now, more information about the team behind the platform has been revealed. According to the platform's whitepaper, it is recorded that Chase Herro is the platform's data and strategies lead. Herro is something of a crypto influencer, having appeared on popular podcasts, including Logan Paul's Impaulsive.
The whitepaper has also listed two other World Liberty team members, Zachary Folkman and Octavian Lojnita. Suspiciously, both of these guys are also the creators of Dough Finance.
Folkman is a former "pick-up artist" who ran the dating platform Date Hotter Girls. It was reported that he used to teach masterclasses to students, including on how to become "alpha males".
Currently, Donald Trump is listed as the project's Chief Crypto Advocate, while his sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr are listed as Web3 ambassadors.
What else can we expect from World Liberty finance?
The project has yet to announce a launch date. But if you are interested in this platform, you can keep yourself up to date with all the latest news through its social media account.
It is also revealed that the project is going to have their own cryptocurrency called WLFI. The token will be a non-transferable governance token, which will make speculation on it difficult to impossible.
