Elon Musk might just have a drinking problem, and he just shared proof on his social media. But it's not what you might be thinking....
The drink we are talking about here is diet coke. While Elon Musk may have a $180 billion fortune, but his favorite drink costs less than $2 a can.
In an interview with CNBC, Musk even shared that he even drinks up to 8 cans of diet coke every day.
Recently, Musk shared an image on his X account of his nightstand, with multiple cans of diet coke. This candid snapshot also showed a pair of black boots positioned beside his bed and a set of headphones resting on the nightstand.
In his post, he added the caption
"I have a drinking problem."
The 53-year-old tech mogul acknowledged his apparent fondness for the beverage in a follow up post, writing
"Clearly, I need to switch to glass bottle Diet Coke."
But it seems that Musk isn't the only billionaire with a penchant for calorie-free soda. President-elect Donald Trump also famously admitted that he loves the beverage.
Bill Gates, who was previously hailed as the richest man on earth, also admitted that he starts his day with a can of diet coke and he drinks three to four cans a day. Gates also previously joked that the used cans he have collected could add up to a whopping 35 pounds of aluminium a year.
Fans reacts
Musk's admission has drawn widespread attention, with many poking fun at his preference for the soca, which contains the controversial artificial sweetener aspartame.
One user warned Musk that drinking too much soda, which contains aspartame, is going to get him to the opposite of space. The fan also suggested that Musk tried squeezing lemons in water for a change.
Another fan commented on the state of his room, complaining that his bed sheets are not taught and tight and that his boots are not lined up properly.
Not his first proclamation of love
This is not the first time Musk has posted his affinity for diet coke. In the past, he has openly admitted to enjoying the beverage, even calling it awesome.
He also shares that he doesn't mind his excessive love for coke might shave off a bit of his life, cause he thinks its worth it.
