Bitcoin Retail Investor Accumulation Slows, Large Investors Increase Holdings

According to Odaily, data from CryptoQuant indicates a slowdown in Bitcoin accumulation by retail investors. Analysts have noted that over the past 30 days, retail holdings have only increased by 1,000 BTC, marking a significant deceleration. Since the beginning of 2024, other large investors, those holding between 1 and 10,000 BTC, have been increasing their holdings at a faster rate than retail investors. To date, retail holdings have grown by 30,000 BTC, while other large investors have added 173,000 BTC to their portfolios. In related news, Bitwise Europe's Head of Research, André Dragosch, shared on the social media platform X that data from Glassnode shows the total number of Bitcoin whale addresses has reached its highest level since January 2021. Currently, there are 1,678 addresses automatically marked as whale addresses, each holding more than 1,000 BTC.
