Judge Denies Trump's Request To Delay Sentencing In Hush Money Case

According to Foresight News, a judge overseeing the criminal hush money case involving former President Donald Trump has denied a request from Trump's legal team to postpone this week's sentencing while awaiting an appeal. The Washington Post reports that New York Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan rejected the argument presented by Trump's lawyers, which cited presidential immunity as a reason for the delay. Judge Merchan stated that this argument had been previously attempted and found legally inappropriate. As a result, the sentencing is set to proceed on Friday, January 10. Trump's legal team had appealed the decision in the hush money case and sought to delay the sentencing process during the appeal.
