Despite these evaluations, the IMF's baseline forecast does not anticipate an economic recession in the United States. During a routine IMF press briefing, Kozack addressed questions regarding Trump's tariff plans. She noted that the tariffs imposed on Canadian and Mexican goods, if maintained, could have a "significant adverse impact" on the economic outlook of these countries.
