Thailand Considers Expanding Laem Chabang Port as Trade Grows

According to Jin10, Thailand's Port Authority is studying a further expansion of Laem Chabang Port, the country's largest deepwater port, amid growing trade in automobiles, electronics, petrochemical products and other goods. Located about 120 kilometers southeast of Bangkok, the port is an important stop for cargo ships transporting manufactured goods from Thailand's industrial heartland and a key hub in the Eastern Economic Corridor. Thailand has attracted investment in electric vehicles, electronics, data centers and other advanced manufacturing through the corridor. In September, Thailand's exports and imports both grew more than expected, driven by global demand for electronic components and machinery related to artificial intelligence and data centers.
