Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Asked to Brief Congress on Reported Chinese Spy Ties

According to CNBC, three House Republican committee leaders asked Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to attend a closed-door briefing about his reported relationship with Megaspeed executive Alice Huang, whom The New York Times reported U.S. intelligence had identified as a Chinese citizen funneling information to Beijing. The lawmakers also requested information about Nvidia’s security protocols against foreign espionage. The letter was signed by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Brian Mast, Select Committee on China Chairman John Moolenaar and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rick Crawford. They invited Huang to an in-person joint briefing on Nov. 18; Nvidia is scheduled to report third-quarter earnings on Nov. 17. A company spokesperson said customer meetings provide ordinary business information, not sensitive trade secrets or information relevant to national security.
