Korean business media Edaily reported that Kakao Brain, the AI research arm of South Korean Internet giant Kakao, plans to release a Korean-based AI chatbot service within this year, tentatively named "KoChatGPT". Kakao Brain plans to release version 3.5 of the AI model KoGPT in the first half of this year, and then officially announce KoChatGPT at Kakao's annual developer conference "If Kakao" at the end of the year, or demonstrate the service in a separate event. Another major Internet giant in South Korea, NAVER, plans to release a generative AI service "Search GPT" in June, which will compete with Kakao.
