U.S. Supreme Court to Hear First Crypto Case, Coinbase Asks High Court to Stay Two Class Actions

According to CoinDesk, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear the first encryption case today, involving Coinbase and cryptocurrencies, but the focus of the debate is whether the lawsuit can be proceeded in federal court. The court will begin at 10:00 ET (22:00 Beijing time on March 21) in Washington, D.C. The case is the second pending. Oral arguments are expected to last 60 minutes. In that case, Coinbase appealed an earlier ruling by a federal court in California that allowed two lawsuits (Bielski v. Coinbase and Suski v. Coinbase) to proceed, unlike Coinbase's user agreement, which required that disputes be submitted to arbitration (arbitration is a method of settling disputes out of court).
