As CoinDesk reported, the address on-chain marked as the Ronin hacker sent an on-chain notification yesterday to the address marked as the Euler hacker, asking it to decrypt an encrypted message. Minutes later, Euler Finance developers intervened with an on-chain message, warning Euler hackers of so-called decryption software, stating that “the easiest way is to return the funds,” and in another transaction that “in any case Do not try to view the message, do not enter your private key anywhere, your machine may be compromised." Hudson Jameson, a former developer at the Ethereum Foundation, said the Ronin hacker’s proposal was designed to trick the Euler hackers into handing over the private keys they stole from Euler Finance and thus hand over the cryptocurrency. But the motivation behind the on-chain message remains unclear, he said.
