According to The Block, self-hosted wallet Nimiq is integrating Gas abstraction USDC transactions in its native wallet for Polygon users, allowing users to more easily process stablecoin transactions without having to hold secondary tokens to charge fees. Nimiq wallet users can now send and receive USDC without using Polygon’s native token MATIC to pay for gas. Users only need to hold USDC, and the wallet's built-in smart contract will automatically convert the USDC Gas fee into MATIC in the background, reducing the friction of using USDC for daily payments. Gas abstracted USDC transactions are available in the latest version of the Nimiq wallet. Nimiq is one of the first self-hosted wallets to implement the Polygon Gas transaction abstraction, combining a simplified cryptocurrency experience with Polygon's low cost, high network throughput. It is powered by the open-source Gas Station network protocol, which enables users of decentralized applications to pay blockchain fees with any token. Nimiq also supports atomic swaps between USDC, BTC and its native token, NIM, as well as a map and point-of-sale solution for finding merchants that accept cryptocurrencies.
